Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen cherries (300 g)
  • ¾ cup skyr (200 g)
  • Optional:
  • 1 –2 tsp honey
  • 1 –2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 –2 tsp agave syrup

Method

  1. Add the frozen cherries to a high speed blender or food processor.
  2. Blend briefly until the cherries start to break down.
  3. Add the skyr and blend again until smooth and creamy.
  4. Scrape down the sides if needed and blend until the cherry frozen yogurt has a soft serve like texture.
  5. Taste and add honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup if you want it sweeter.
  6. Serve immediately for a soft and creamy texture.

Equipment

  • high speed blender or food processor
  • Spatula
  • Serving bowl

Notes

Use the cherries straight from the freezer. Do not thaw them first, or the texture will become too soft.
If your blender struggles, let the cherries sit for 2 to 3 minutes before blending.
Add only a tiny splash of milk if absolutely needed, otherwise the frozen yogurt can become too runny.
Serve immediately for the best creamy soft serve texture.
If you freeze leftovers, let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating because the texture will become firmer.
The optional sweetener is not included in the nutrition estimate.
